CORE CHALLENGE
How might we design a 'tailored', 'incontinence-specific'
health data and habit tracking application for spina bifida patients.
WHAT KIND OF PROBLEMS DO THEY EXPERIENCE

An uncontrollable bowel really causes issues with self-esteem wherever you go.

Traveling is a problem. You sometimes have to do self-catheterization or use an enema to relieve yourself.
Causes a lot of distress in personal/social lives and relationships.
Hampers professional engagements in the work place.

Have to remember to carry adult diapers/incontinence products for potential accidents.

Planning outfits is a pain. As an individual, your dressing sense becomes more functional than fashionable.
WHY CAN'T PATIENTS JUST USE AN EXISTING POPULAR HABIT TRACKING APP?
Sensitive Subject Matter and Privacy Protections
Very specific information tracking and documentation needs
Patients desired to be able to carry this information to future clinical appointments.
ENGAGEMENT MODEL
Formulated a realistic framework that supports consistency, autonomy, and measurable progress—while adapting to the unique constraints of medical routines
